Large Bible, printed in Oxford, 1680, containing two pages of family records of David Fox and his children, Richard Kenner and his descendants, and John Crawley, with his children by Judith Ball and Spelman Garner, the earliest date being 1647 and the latest 1769. Typescript and photostatic copies of the Bible record and a report by R.W. Church, 1933, assistant reference librarian, University of Virginia, on the Bible and the persons mentioned there including their relationship to the Washingtons. Genealogical notes on the Wares of Virginia, 1745-ca. 1789, the descendants of Captain Thomas Opie, Sr., the Washington family, and a booklet, by Laura Davis Worley, on "The records of the Savage and Kenner families" [1900]. Newspaper clippings on descendants of William Ball of Culpeper County, Virginia, 1718-1785, and on Mrs. Juliet Opie Hopkins, "Florence Nightingale of the South" in Civil War. Two articles, from Southern Churchman, 16 Mar. 1907 and The Virginia Churchman, Feb. 1927, on the history of St. Mary's White Chapel Church, Lancaster County, Virginia, particularly of the early period (founded ca. 1650), with special mention of the Balls, since many are buried there.
